Course Content

  • Identifying type of rose – hybrid T, Floribunda, climbing, miniature, bush etc
  • Tools/Equipment/hygiene
  • Pruning technique
  • Aftercare – removing dead leaves, mulching etc.
  • Pests and diseases prevention


Michael Brown

Michael Brown is a passionate plants man with extensive experience growing and hybridizing roses, daffodils, chrysanthemums and begonias. As a previous president of the Canterbury Rose Society he enjoyed showing and judging at a national level. Now retired, he still fills his time creating new blooms on his large property in Loburn, North Canterbury.
