Soil ScienceTutor: Bill Martin
Discover the intricacies of soil, including texture, structure, pH levels, fertility and organic soil management techniques.


Thursday 30 September7-9pm
Plant ScienceTutor: Hamish Kelland
Investigate the plant kingdom with a close plant tissue types, adaptations, morphology, the role of leaves and stems. Demystify plant classifications.


Thursday 7 October 7-9pm
Pests and Diseases, Biodiversity and Ecosystem ServicesTutor: Hamish Kelland
Identify pests and diseases and learn how to manage them the organic way


Thursday 14 October7-9pm
Permaculture Design and Urban Food Production Tutor: Roz Rolls
An introduction to Permaculture and garden design for resilience with a focus on integrated edible garden systems


Sunday 17 October 9am – 2pm
Richmond Community Gardens
Composting Tutor: Bailey Perryman
Bailey will share his passion and extensive experience in urban composting systems with a hot composting practical.


Thursday 21 October 7-9pm
Worm Farming Tutor: John Feeney
Want to create a worm farm in your garden? John will cover all aspects of farming including design, environmental factors, ongoing management and how to use the end products.

All evening sessions are held in The Kiosk – Christchurch Botanic Gardens
Conveniently located just over the footbridge from the Armagh Street car park.

Sunday practical session is held in the Richmond Community Gardens
